Silvia Bortolato is Ph.D. candidate at the School of International Studies of the University of Trento, where she investigates risk assessment in conventional arms exports, with specific reference to possible breaches of humanitarian law.
She holds a law degree from the University of Padua and completed an executive master of advanced studies in international law of armed conflict at the Geneva Academy of International Humanitarian Law and Human Rights.
Prior to her doctoral studies, Silvia served as a civil servant and legal expert for the public sector for several years.
Her core research interests include international humanitarian law and arms transfer.
