Jean Paul Moinet is a doctoral student in International Studies at the University of Trento. He is currently writing his dissertation on the duty of non-recognition of unlawful territorial situations. His research interests include the principle of self-determination and the theories of customary international law.
He has an MA in Law from the University of Milano-Bicocca and an LLM in International and Comparative Law from the University of Helsinki.
In 2016 he worked in the law clinic of the University of Helsinki and he competed in the Jessup Moot Court Competition. Since 2018 he has been assistant editor for the Journal Questions of International Law. In 2018/2019, he was teaching assistant in the Elements of International and European Union Law course (School of International Studies).
