Giulia Cagol

Giulia Cagol is postdoctoral researcher in international law at the School of International Studies in Trento. She holds a PhD in Comparative and European Legal Studies from the Faculty of Law of the University of Trento. Her dissertation examined the lawfulness of the increasing focus on criminal accountability by UN-mandated commissions of inquiry. During her doctoral studies, she was a visiting researcher at the Grotius Centre for International Legal Studies in Leiden and spent a research period at the Max Planck Institute for Comparative Public Law and International Law in Heidelberg.
Her academic interests include the law of international organizations and theories of treaty interpretation. She is currently conducting research on the interplay between international arms trade regulation and international investment law, as well as the implications of international and EU dual-use export controls for companies and academic institutions.
